Sizes
Stainless banding is usually sold in inches. Here is the metric equivalent:
| Size | Approx. mm | Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1/4 inch | 6.4 mm | Cables and light fixing |
| 3/8 inch | 9.5 mm | Small signs and pipes |
| 1/2 inch | 12.7 mm | Signs and poles — most requested |
| 5/8 and 3/4 inch | 16 – 19 mm | Heavy fixing on poles |
Tools and buckles
A stainless band tool tensions the band around the pole, folds it over the buckle and cuts it in one movement. Buckles should match the band's width and grade, so two different metals don't corrode each other.
